2007 Transportation Achievement Award, Institute of Transportation Engineers

Hanson was recognized for their work on the South Tri-State Tollway Reconstruction Project in Southern Cook County, Ill. This project was awarded 1st place in the facilities category of the competition.


Honor Award, American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (2006)

Hanson received an Honor Award, ACEC's highest award, for its entry in ACEC-Illinois' Engineering Excellence Awards Competition. The award-winning entry, "Engineering a future for Lincoln's past," highlighted Hanson's roles as the structural engineer for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum Complex in Springfield, Ill. The Illinois Capital Development Board was our client.


Honor Award, American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (2006)

An Honor Award for transportation services recognized Hanson's work on the Interstate 74 Corridor project in Peoria, Ill. The Illinois Department of Transportation was our client.


2006 Outstanding Civil Engineering Award, American Society of Civil Engineers

Hanson was awarded for design and construction services for our "Neutrinos at the main injector" project, which was completed for the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.


2005 Engineering Excellence Merit Award, American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois

Hanson received this award for the Stanford Avenue project, which was conducted for the city of Springfield, Ill.


2005 Award of Honor, American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri

Hanson was awarded for our automated weather observation systems project for the Missouri Department of Transportation.


2005 Award of Honor, American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri

An Honor Award was presented for our I-255 rehabilitation, which was a project through the Missouri Department of Transportation.


2005 Preservation Award, Los Angeles Conservancy

Hanson was awarded for historic facility restoration and rehabilitation at the Los Angeles Terminal Annex's Infomart project.


2004 Merit Award, Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois

Hanson received this award for I-55 bridge construction over Lake Springfield, which was a project through the Illinois Department of Transportation.


Best of 2003 Awards for Transportation, Midwest Construction

Hanson was awarded for the Global III project's design for Union Pacific Railroad.


Exceptional Consulting and Engineering Service Award 2003

The Illinois Department of Transportation recognized Hanson with an Exceptional Consulting and Engineering Service Award for highway structure projects, phase II, for its design of the removal and replacement of the I-55 bridges over Lake Springfield in Springfield, Ill.


Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois Special Achievement Award 2003

Hanson was awarded for the Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area in 2003. (The Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois is now the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois.)

 



Master Communicator Award

Hanson received a 2002 Master Communicator Award of Excellence for its South Suburban Airport public involvement Web site—www.southsuburbanairport.com. We developed the site for the Illinois Department of Transportation to keep the public involved with issues surrounding the development of a new Peotone-area airport.


Project of the year 2002

The Illinois Chapter of the American Public Works Association named the Kelly Branch Relief Sewer project in Springfield, Ill., the 2002 Project of the Year. This award recognized the positive alliance between Hanson and its client, the city of Springfield.



Federal Design Achievement Award 2001

The National Endowment for the Arts and the U.S. General Services Administration chose Hanson for a Federal Design Achievement Award for the firm’s design of the Clark Bridge in Alton, Ill. The entry was one of 35 winning projects out of a national field of 338 submissions. The awards are given every four years.
