In association with Isotherm Engineering Ltd., Hanson is providing commissioning services for the new Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute in Toronto, Canada. The Institute is heralded as the first facility of its kind in North America—a 330,000-square-foot, nine-story research and education building designed to integrate the worlds of research, education and patient care and bring science to patients faster than ever before.
The Illinois Capital Development Board selected Hanson to provide architectural, engineering and interior design for the design and construction of the new $6 million Illinois Army National Guard Shiloh Readiness Center in Shiloh, Ill. The 35,500-square-foot center will feature an assembly hall, family readiness center, classrooms, simulation area, work bays and storage units.
Design has begun on a multi-lane roundabout at the intersection of North Main Street (Illinois Route 2) and Auburn Street in Rockford, Ill. This improvement will serve as a centerpiece for urban redevelopment in the Rockford area. This history-in-the-making project, completed for the city of Rockford, marks the first-ever multi-lane roundabout to be designed on an Illinois state-marked roadway.
As a consultant to Oscar I. Garcia, AIA, and Michael Graves and Associates, Hanson is providing design, agency coordination, bid and negotiation, and construction-phase services for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire-protection systems in the new Trump International Hotel and Tower, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St. Paul District, selected the Bergmann-Hanson joint venture to provide A/E services throughout the entire Mississippi River Division. The Bergmann-Hanson joint venture includes Bergmann Associates of Rochester, N.Y. The three-year, $3 million contract could include engineering services for expanded locks on the Mississippi River.
