Stations help make flying safer at airports

Automatic Weather Observing Stations (AWOSs) monitor current weather conditions. The information collected through these stations includes wind speed, temperature, dew point, humidity and cloud height. Airports use this data to plan flight routes, monitor weather conditions and ensure safe takeoffs and landings.

Hanson provided services for individual AWOS installation projects at 13 Illinois airports:

The Missouri Department of Transportation recently selected Hanson to provide design and construction observation services for the installation of AWOS systems at 15 Missouri airports.
