IRP-HAZWRAP
Program
From
1985 to 1994, Hanson, in association with Parsons Engineering Science,
undertook an array of hazardous waste management assignments through
contracts with
Martin Marietta Energy Systems. We completed these assignments
through the Department
of Defense's Installation Restoration Program (IRP) and the
Department of Energy's
Hazardous Waste Remedial Action Program (HAZWRAP).

At
more than 300 sites associated with 30 U.S. Air Force installations
nationwide, Hanson has provided a wide range of services including
confirmation
studies, hazard
evaluations and RI/FSs.
And we've worked at sites containing the following:
- underground
storage tanks
- missile
sites
- bombing
ranges
- fuel
spills
- landfills
- lagoons
- fire
protection training areas
- hazardous
waste disposal and storage areas
Services
provided to
Assateague Island, Va.; Camp Grant, Ill.; and
Crab Orchard, Ill.:
- planimetric
surveys
- location
mapping
- location

- ordnance
and explosive waste (OEW) contamination investigation
Military
use of all three sites ended in 1945. Currently, they serve
as wildlife refuges or public facilities.
