Project description

The Illinois Army and Air National Guard selected Hanson as the engineering consultant for a variety of structural, civil and geotechnical design and construction projects.  Services ranged from environmental assessments and road relocations to complete design and construction supervision.  

Hanson provided services at the Greater Peoria Airport (Peoria) and Capital Airport (Springfield).  A number of specific projects for each site are listed below.

Greater Peoria Airport, 182nd Air Support Operations Center

• base civil engineering facility
• base supply administration warehouse
• 71,000-square-foot composite aircraft maintenance hangar
• composite operations and training facility
• design for fuel systems maintenance and corrosion control hangar for C-130
• 17,000-square-foot fuel systems maintenance hangar
• security operations facility with reinforced concrete arms vault
• T-10 power check pad with noise suppressor

Capital Airport, 183rd Tactical Fighter Squadron

• 12,000-square-foot engine shop
• jet fuel storage complex with 
     --fuel storage house and receiving area 
      --truck fill stands
      --pump house
      --two 2,500-barrel underground storage tanks
• military education facility and barracks at Camp Lincoln
• quarter-mile roadway and 430-car parking lot with lighting and landscaping
• motor pool parking overlay for 685 cars
• fire station and police facility
• communication and electronics training facility
• T-10 testing facility with noise suppressor
• engine shop facility
