Office
information
The Peoria, Ill., office opened its doors in 1965. It started as
a one-person office providing structural engineering to architectural
firms. Today the Peoria office has a total of 20 employees.
Hanson has developed a large and varied client base. Our clients
include airports, educational and correctional facilities, highway
departments, land development firms and telecommunication companies.
In addition to structural engineering, the Peoria staff provides
civil/transportation and construction observation services.
Bridge design has always been an important part of the Peoria office.
Over the decades, motorists have benefited from the Peoria office’s
expertise, from small county bridges to the McClugage Bridge and
Bob Michel Bridge across the Illinois River.
Bridges carrying railroads have also carried Hanson’s Peoria
reputation to wider markets. The Peoria staff has provided engineering
services and maintenance recommendations for bridge replacements
and new bridges nationwide. Work on capacity improvement projects
for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway lines has had the Peoria
staff designing railroad bridges in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas,
Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Washington, Oregon,
Idaho and Wyoming.
The office's handiwork has also been felt by thousands of Illinois
students, from elementary age to college. In addition to work on
schools, colleges and universities, Hanson has designed correctional
facilities, from juvenile detention centers to federal prisons in
the state. The list continues with many churches and numerous nursing
homes.
