AT&T
National Storage Tank Administration Program
Client: AT&T
Location: Nationwide
Hanson
administered this $200 million program that included more than 3,000
sites nationwide. Hanson developed and managed a Geographic Information
System (GIS) database to track the volumes of information about
AT&T's tanks and sites. By accessing the database, AT&T
could find different tank locations, determine storage capacities,
and identify the type of fuel stored in the tanks.
To
create this database, Hanson's programmers interviewed members of
the NSTAP project team to identify specific work processes that
could be incorporated into the database. After completing the interviews,
our programmers designed a database that was customized for NSTAP
and AT&T. Hanson developed the database by translating information
from several regional databases of varied format into one common
operating system.
The
database tracked budgets, schedules and facility information at
approximately 3,500 locations and provided real-time information.
The NSTAP project team could then access and update the database
via a modem.
