Illinois Capital Development Board sewer rehabilitation planning

This project consists of a television inspection and condition assessment of the main sanitary sewers and manholes constructed in Springfield, Ill., prior to 1959. The sewers and manholes are located mainly in the city's Central Business District. 

Hanson has performed evaluations of the sewers and manholes, identifying the Global Positioning System (GPS) location of each manhole and collecting attribute data at each location. All data collected has been assembled in GIS layers within ArcView GIS 8.x. 

Once this project is complete, delivered digital maps and GIS data will be included in the city of Springfield's Department of Public Works' GIS system. All condition assessment data also will be linked to the city's work order management system, CassWorks. Additionally, Hanson will deliver the television inspection data on DVD, making it available to field personnel carrying a portable DVD player.
