Motorola
Project Hoosier SAFE-T
Client: Motorola
Location: Indiana
Hanson
has been selected to work as a tower integrator for Motorola in
a statewide radio communications project for Indiana. As the tower
integrator, Hanson will identify site candidates, confirm the suitability
of selected sites, secure properties, design improvements, prepare
construction drawings, obtain permits, coordinate utilities and
commission installations. Project Hoosier SAFE-T will enable emergency
agencies to communicate with each other. The system will enhance
emergency response to events such as flooding, terrorist attacks,
and medical, fire and crime events.
Hanson
has developed a GIS system to assist in locating and identifying
existing towers on which to place equipment. In the event a tower
does not exist or is unavailable, the GIS system will show possible
locations on which to build a new tower. Hanson creates data sets,
which can be loaded into laptop computers giving field staff the
most up-to-date information available, as well as detailed map of
tower locations. Field staff are then able to approach the tower
inspections in a more efficient manner. Staff can also provide feedback
regarding new towers through the GIS system.
